MEP Boni: A new framework for the future connectivity of European users
“Today, we have to respond to the new challenges. We need to re-balance the models of infrastructure-based and service-based competition", says MEP Michal Boni.
Michal Boni, a Member of the European Parliament since 2014, explains his view on competition as a driving force for growth, for healthy markets and finally, for investment. It is now time to respond to the new challenges and to re-balance the models of infrastructure-based and service-based competition.
In order to reach the goals of 5G, of the Internet of Things, of the Digital Single Market in general, we need a regulation that is simpler, that is more pro-investment. We need a regulation that is future-oriented. ETNO is a strong believer that the telcos are a very important part of an ecosystem and that to reach 5G we need to work together with the other players of this ecosystem.
ETNO has been the voice of Europe’s telecommunications network operators since 1992 and has become the principal policy group for European electronic communications network operators. Its 41 members and observers from Europe and beyond are the backbone of Europe’s digital progress. They are the main drivers of broadband and are committed to its continual growth in Europe. ETNO brings together the main investors in innovative and high-quality e-communications platforms and services, representing 60% of total sector investment.
