The telecoms industry is committed to the objectives of EU Regulation 2015/2120, which foresees the abolition of roaming retail surcharges by June 2017 while travelling in EU and EEA countries.
ETNO and GSMA members advocate for effective and fair use limits of roaming in terms of volume, which are required to prevent potential abuses. We also underline that while customers will enjoy free roaming beginning of June 2017, telecom operators will, as always, be required to continue providing easily implementable, solid and effective services.
The efforts to improve the productivity and efficiency of industrial enterprises have never stopped. The race to do more and faster gave birth to three revolutionary and very disruptive technologies: steam engine, electricity and… computers. Internet of things is the fourth revolution companies must embrace for a better connected world.
ETNO has been the voice of Europe’s telecommunications network operators since 1992 and has become the principal policy group for European electronic communications network operators. Its 41 members and observers from Europe and beyond are the backbone of Europe’s digital progress. They are the main drivers of broadband and are committed to its continual growth in Europe. ETNO brings together the main investors in innovative and high-quality e-communications platforms and services, representing 60% of total sector investment.
