The CEOs of Europe's leading telcos wrote to EU ministers ahead of the June Telecoms Council: the spotlight is on the Electronic Communications Code and on the ePrivacy Regulation.
The letter was sent to EU telecoms ministers on 25th of May 2017 and it is signed by the CEOs of the following companies: BT Group, Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, Deutsche Telekom, GO Malta, KPN, Orange, Proximus, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, Telekom Austria, Telenor, Telia Company and Türk Telekom.
MEP Lambert van Nistelrooij considers that the Gigabit Society is one of the biggest choices Europe has in order to invest in the future, to come up after 10 years of regulation for the telecom with a new framework that embraces the possibility of new technologies and also make the consumers more powerful, more active with the new technology.
