T-Systems turns the cloud into a top export

The cloud designed in Germany has grown into a top export: T-Systems has concluded a number of international cloud deals worth millions of euros. Customers include companies from Brazil, Switzerland and Singapore, where the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary secured a 21-year contract - the longest in the Company's history.
More and more companies around the world now use demand-based, pay-per-use applications, computing and storage capacities from the Net. Deutsche Telekom's Board of Management and T-Systems CEO Reinhard Clemens plan to generate around a billion euros from cloud transactions alone by 2015. To be able to meet the increased demand for cloud services in the future as well, T-Systems will be simplifying its organizational structure considerably and making its business processes cloud-capable throughout.
In Singapore, T-Systems closed a deal for IT services worth some EUR 60 million with the operators of the Sports Hub sports center for the next 21 years. The 35 hectare sports and entertainment complex is a public-private partnership project of the Singapore government. The Deutsche Telekom subsidiary is developing and operating the business information system for Sports Hub, which in addition to IT for customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning also entails access control, a user portal and an event management tool. T-Systems has many years of experience in setting up and operating ICT in state-of-the-art sports facilities. Among other things, the Company provided the stadium in Breslau with communications technology for the 2012 European Soccer Championship or the Rhein-Neckar Arena of the Bundesliga soccer club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
In Brazil, T-Systems will provide CASA & VIDEO with data center services from the cloud worth millions of euros over the next five years. The leading retailer in the state of Rio de Janeiro operates a total of 68 shops with more than 50,000 square meters of retail space for electronics, car accessories, tools, air conditioning systems, household goods and appliances. The Deutsche Telekom subsidiary provides all of the retailer's business critical applications such as SAP services, card payment systems and IT infrastructure for online orders and teleshopping on a dynamic basis.
In Switzerland, dnata extended its existing contract with T-Systems for the ground handling business by another four years. The air travel service provider relies on cloud services provided by T-Systems to cover its requirement for SAP infrastructure and computing capacity in line with its business cycle. dnata provides extensive ground handling services for more than 60 airlines around the world.
