VIVACOM’s 3G network now with speed of 42 Mbps
VIVACOM's 3G network has increased its maximum speed by 50% for downloading data and it now provides speed of 42 Mbps for 22% of Bulgaria's population. The telecom provides twice as high speed in the most densely populated cities in the country. It is expected that by the end of the first quarter it will cover the top 10 cities in the country and the main Bulgarian resorts. Until now the network had the capability of 21 Mbps for download and 5.74 Mbps for upload.
Currently the telecom's 3G network covers 99.41% of the population and 95.95% of the country, its main advantage is the assured connection of at least 100 Mbps to all 3G-telecom base stations. This gives VIVACOM the capacity to maintain high speeds of mobile Internet, without being restricted to large cities or high number of users using the network simultaneously.
The new higher speeds will allow significantly faster obtaining of data directly to the end user and will be particularly useful for sending and receiving large files and for users who want to watch video in high definition via mobile devices. They will be available to all customers using tariff plans for data Traffic Unlimited M, L and XL, as well as packages with unlimited mobile Internet + Data Unlimited M, L and XL with voice SIM cards. According to the latest financial results of the company in 2012, customers of VIVACOM's mobile data services increase by 71.6% on a year basis.
