France Telecom-Orange receives the Sustainable Development Trophy from the Council of the French Institute of Chartered Accountants
The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants awarded its Trophies for the quality of environmental and social information on 21 February. The trophy received by Orange was in recognition of the best sustainable development report published by a CAC 40 company.
The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants was awarding its Trophy for the quality of environmental and social information for the thirteenth year in a row. It is awarded to companies that implement a relevant, transparent and reliable sustainable development strategy.
The Orange Corporate Social Responsibility report, which was voted “Best Sustainable Development Report”, had been judged against the ranking system used to analyse social and environmental information split into three categories: relevance (30 %), transparency-comparability (35 %) and reliability (35 %). The relevance criterion is based on the challenges facing the company, the means implemented to address them, the consideration given to the concerns of stakeholders, the performance indicators used to track progress against the objectives and the link between the approach to sustainable development and its contribution to achieving the company’s strategic and financial objectives. The transparency and comparability criterion is used to rate the methodology put in place to measure the indicators, their accuracy and the scope of activity covered. This section also allows for a cross-business sector comparison using reporting tools. The reliability criterion recognises a voluntary decision (apart from the LNRE – New Economic Regulations Law Requirements) to have the indicators audited by a third party.
The Orange Corporate Social Responsibility report provides details of more than 140 achievements and performance indicators based on the 4 commitments made by the Group: recognising and supporting employees, ensuring transparency, quality, security and safety for its customers, sharing the benefits of the digital world available to the greatest number of people and, finally, finding innovative solutions for a greener world
