International Women’s Day in Times of Change: Resilient, Convergent, Heroic

“This year’s International Women’s Day comes in times of change. With an ongoing pandemic and the war in Ukraine, its celebratory appetite has been lost. Nevertheless, I see resilient, convergent, and heroic women in Europe”, Lise Fuhr, ETNO Director General, wrote in a blogpost.

Moreover, Lise looks at the inspiring women of Ukraine who are the real heroes and role-models to the next generation of women in Europe: “I believe I speak on behalf of many women in Europe: we see you, we admire you. May you all be safe; may you all continue being heroes until peaceful times will come”, she added.

Lastly, Lise discusses the moving dynamics of Europe’s digital gender gap: we are not there yet, but we see progress. Europe’s Digital Decade Targets are getting closer, the industry is stepping up the game. However, the latest DESI numbers provide a reality check: 2030 is not that far away. We all need to act swiftly.
