ETNO to participate in WCIT-2012 Preparatory Meeting of Asia-Pacific Region

Bangkok, Thailand - 6 to 8 August 2012:  - ETNO will take part in the APT (Asia-Pacific Telecommunity) regional meeting in Bangkok on 6-8 August, the purpose of which is to discuss the preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for WCIT-12. Participants will also discuss the WCIT preparations of the other five regional organizations and the output of the ITU Council Working Group on WCIT-12 (CWG-WCIT12).

ETNO will take part in the APT (Asia-Pacific Telecommunity) regional meeting in Bangkok on 6-8 August, the purpose of which is to discuss the preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for WCIT-12. Participants will also discuss the WCIT preparations of the other five regional organizations and the output of the ITU Council Working Group on WCIT-12 (CWG-WCIT12).

ETNO will use this opportunity to inform regional participants of the ETNO proposal to the ITU, which provides for a new sustainable model for the Internet, to be based on commercial agreements between undertakings, for the benefit of all. The ETNO contribution calls for a new economic model for the Internet that provides end-to-end Quality of Service delivery, in addition to best effort delivery.

In the next weeks and leading up to the WCIT, ETNO will continue its dialogue with national representatives and the main stakeholders in Europe and beyond, by participating in all the other upcoming ITU regional conferences.
