Commission announces next steps to keep children safe online
Last Tuesday, 5 of February, we celebrated Safer Internet Day, an initiative by the European Commission to tackle issues like fake news, cyberbullying, privacy concerns, grooming, sexting and cyber hygiene, and make sure EU citizens are protected online.
On the occasion, the EU Commission announced the creation of new Expert Group on Safer Internet for Children, which will help improve coordination and cooperation between EU Member States and propose concrete actions. As Commissioner Gabriel said: “This year’s slogan, Together for a Better Internet, is a timely reminder that no one country or organisation can act effectively on its own when it comes to internet safety.”
