Focus on

Committing to climate-neutrality by 2050 Commission proposes European Climate Law

 
'We are acting today to make the EU the world's first climate neutral continent by 2050', said President von der Leyen on Wednesday 4 March, when the EU presented its proposal to introduce into legislation its commitment to be climate neutral by 2050.

The European Climate Law sets the 2050 target and the direction of travel for all EU policy. The Commission also launched a public consultation on the future European Climate Pact in order to involve the public in the co-designing of the instrument.
