1. Our sector is changing along with its networks. This requires a thriving #connectivity ecosystem in Europe: with strong telcos, strong and diverse vendors and engaged users & partners.
2. The health of the connectivity ecosystem matters: massive telecom investment makes a difference for citizens. We are far from creating an EU telecom single market. Our competition model should be based on quality & innovation, rather than just price.
3. Where are Europe’s investment needs beyond FTTH rollout?
- Technologies such as #OpenRAN, network virtualisation, Low Earth orbit satellites, quantum encryption & edge computing
- Need for additional skilled workers / #AI deployment
4. The policy shift needs to be up to the ambitions. We call for:
- Additional measures for innovation, digital transformation and skills
- Updated policies, less regulation
- In-market scale as a first step to a 🇪🇺 telecom single market with ⬆️ investment capacity

With the recently published White Paper, @EU_Commission indicated its goal that by 2030, 100% of our citizens, and companies should be connected by #fibre. The Commission will now work on creating the legal conditions that make 2030 the ultimate date to use copper networks #FTTH24
